Trio Jinx has been hailed as “turning the classical concert into a jam session” by KTEP radio broadcaster Dennis Woo. Together they bring together the low hums of double bass, spinning lines of flute and amber swirls of violin/viola. They are a classical core trio, offering concerts of classical music spiced with dashes of folk, jazz and improvisation. In April of 2017, Trio Jinx has performed residencies in El Paso/Texas, Mesa/Arizona, and Milford/Iowa. This summer they will be in residency at the Sitka Chamber Music Festival, and have been invited as semi-finalists to compete in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in Indiana. All three members (Louna Dekker-Vargas, Ledah Finck and Yoshiaki Horiguchi) are alumni of Peabody Institute and are proud to call Baltimore their musical and artistic home.

Trio Jinx’s music ranges from classical music (ex. Erwin Schulhoff’s Concertino, arrangements of Bela Bartok’s violin duets), to original compositions (Ledah Finck’s Gladly Beyond, and Terra Incognita), to arrangements of folk melodies.
