About

A classical guitarist with a diverse background and broad range of musical interests, Sean O'Connor's top priorities are expressive playing and a unique repertoire. Primarily a rock and jazz guitarist in his pre-college years, Sean developed an ability to improvise and arrange music for the guitar before any of his formal education. During his years at CSU Sacramento, and afterwards as a Magna Cum Laude graduate of that school's music program, his interest broadened to include the incredible repertoire available to the classical guitarist. Most recently, he has expanded his efforts to include the 11-String Alto Guitar, a unique instrument designed to allow guitarists to perform Baroque and Renaissance lute music without the destructive editing normally required for such endeavors. One thing is certain: at Sean's concerts, you will hear music you are unlikely to hear anywhere else, performed with conviction and feeling.
