About

Trio St. Bernard, made up of violinist Brandon Garbot, pianist Sahun Hong, and cellist Zachary Mowitz, formed at the Taos School of Music, and are quickly gaining acclaim for their creative and energized performances of the piano trio repertoire. They have received guidance from members of the Borromeo, Shanghai, and Brentano Quartets as well as Leon Fleisher, Ida Kavafian, Robert McDonald, and Michael Tree.

The Trio’s members have performed at venues such as Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, the Kennedy Center, and in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Princeton, Easton (MD) as well as festivals such as Ravinia’s Steans Institute, Taos, Music@Menlo, Krzyzowa-Music Festival, Kneisel Hall, the Perlman Music Program, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Encounters.

As an ensemble, Trio St. Bernard has performed in Peabody's Griswold Hall and Johns Hopkins' Shriver Hall, as well as at other venues in Philadelphia, Princeton, Maryland, and North Carolina. In January of 2016 they were an ensemble-in-residence at the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, where they collaborated with violist Hsin-Yun Huang. They have also been invited to Music from Angel Fire as a resident ensemble.

Trio St. Bernard is proudly named after the Hotel St. Bernard in the Taos Ski Valley, where the Taos School of Music is hosted each summer. Brandon, Sahun, and Zach are currently studying at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore.
