About

I love performing, teaching, and creating communities. Through music, I try to create spaces for people to connect, express themselves, and develop their unique creative voices. I love the conversations we can have in, around, and because of music, and Groupmuse really shines in this regard. In addition to performing in concert halls with many types of ensembles, I also share performances in schools, living rooms, and community centers. I have a thriving teaching practice and work with young musicians ages 3-80.

Music

I play classical music, both on the modern silver flute and the baroque flute, which is a wooden flute with only one key. Sometimes I play solo flute, sometimes with piano or guitar or violin or cello colleagues. The music I play is called "Western classical music" and it's a tradition which originated in Europe.
Sometimes I also play folk songs from around the world and flutes from other cultures which I've picked up over the years.
