About

Hello. I am Shi-An Costello, a classical musician in Chicago. I am interested in playing in small, intimate spaces for opinionated and appreciative audiences. I am looking for opportunities to raise funds for a new ensemble I am creating, as well as get productive feedback on the projects I am currently working on.

I have a Bachelors and Masters degrees in piano performance and composition from McGill University (M.Mus) and Columbia College (BM). I was a visiting artist at Boston Conservatory, a staff accompanist and Interlochen Center for the Arts and am currently on the piano faculty of New Music School. I have recorded two albums with Blue Griffin Records.

Music

I have full programs of J.S. Bach, Dmitri Schostakovitch and Frederic Chopin ready to go (2019-2020 season).

I also have many contemporary pieces written for me, much of which is for narrating pianist. Pieces include themes such as a surrealist trivia game show, a cautionary tale of an extinct species, a Beat generation trip across the country, and a confessional of an inmate sentenced to a life in prison.
