The Blue Heron Duo met at Cazadero Music Camp, and has been working together for over a decade. The combination of flute and guitar is beautiful and versatile, allowing for alluring tone colors and rich harmony. Besides performing staple repertoire, The Blue Heron Duo is deeply committed to commissioning and playing new music. New music has taken them on an international tour in South Korea and recently they just finished premiering a program of new works in San Francisco by Ross Thompson and guitarist, Carle Costa.

Our personal favorites are Piazzolla's "Histoire de Tango", Robert Beaser's "Mountain Song Suite" and all of Pujol's music for flute and guitar. However, we play a wide variety of styles, from Baroque to contemporary, because of the immense volume of repertoire available for this duo.
