About
Kimberly Hou began piano at 4 years old and has since developed a lifelong love for music. In 2012, the U.S. White House Commission named Kimberly a Presidential Scholar in the Arts, and she was recognized by the National YoungArts Foundation as a Silver Award Winner.
Kimberly has appeared on NPR’s From the Top as well as performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall, Kennedy Center Concert Hall and Millennium Stage, U.S. Department of State, and the Hungarian and Bulgarian Embassies. She won First Prize in the 2009 Music Teachers National Association Junior Piano Competition, the 23rd, 25th, and 27th International Young Artist Piano Competitions, and over 28 other regional and national competitions.
A recent graduate of the Columbia University-Juilliard School Exchange Program in NYC, Kimberly’s latest projects include composing in addition to piano performance. Currently based in SF, she enjoys writing music for podcasts, video game soundtracks, short films, and documentaries.
