With a Little Bit of Pluck: Music for Lute and Guitar

Solo lute and classical guitar

About

Howard Bass has more than fifty years experience as a professional lutenist and guitarist. Known primarily as an ensemble musician with Trio Sefardi, La Rondinella, and as a guest artist with HESPERUS, the Baltimore Consort, and the Folger Consort (among others), he has performed solo recitals at the National Gallery of Art, the Phillips Collection, Carnegie Recital Hall, and London's Wigmore Hall. A few review excerpts: "virtuoso lute pieces were played brilliantly by Bass" (Washington Post); "Bass brought superb musicianship to everything he played" (Post); "Once again I am floored by the lute playing of Howard Bass, especially in the lovely "Il me suffit." (Early Music America); "Bass captures the Spanish flavor of this music in a way that others miss." (Classics Today).
