About

Cellist Osheen Manukyan is a native of Los Angeles, California, and currently studies at the Juilliard School in New York City under the tutelage of Timothy Eddy.

Osheen has appeared on NPR’s “From the Top”, and is a proud recipient of a Performing Arts Scholarship from the Armenian General Benevolent Union. He has received fellowships from the Aspen and Sarasota music festivals, and has performed as a soloist with the Colburn Chamber Orchestra.

In addition to being a dedicated classical musician, Osheen also has an appetite for ethnic music from different cultures, which he arranges for western instruments. Outside of his musical life, he is a cinema lover and enjoys spending time in nature.

Music

Since the 17th century and until today, composers have recognized the beauty and versatility of the cello. As a result, cellists are blessed with an incredibly rich repertoire.

Smaller spaces are perfect for showcasing works for unaccompanied cello, works for cello and piano, and chamber music for various combinations of instruments.

As a classically trained cellist, I regularly play music by musical giants such as:

Antonio Vivaldi
Johann Sebastian Bach
Franz Joseph Haydn
Luigi Boccherini
Ludwig van Beethoven
Franz Schubert
Felix Mendelssohn
Robert Schumann
Johannes Brahms
Antonín Dvořák
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Camille Saint-Saëns
Gabriel Fauré
Claude Debussy
Maurice Ravel
Sergei Rachmaninoff
Sergei Prokofiev
Igor Stravinsky
Dmitri Shostakovich
(and many more!)
