About

I'm a concert pianist, filmmaker, and educator. I've performed in Europe and throughout the United States with both orchestra and in recital, and have released three commercial CD recordings, including the world-premiere complete collection of composer Lukas Foss’ piano works. I also produce music documentaries on living composers, including Sonata (1957), a film about the distinguished American composer Donald Harris’ opus one, the Sonata for piano, and about his early career in Paris. Another film is about Pulitzer Prize winning composer David Del Tredici and the contemporary social and cultural impact of his music. I've been a visiting professor of music theory, piano performance, aesthetics, writing about music, and history at several universities, including The City University of New York, The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Mannes College, and New York University. I now chair the Fine Art and Music Department at Yeshiva University.

Music

Classical and modern art music. Among my favorite composers are J.S. Bach, Franz Schubert, Frederic Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and David Del Tredici.
