Karen Fried (soprano) and Valdone Arffa (piano) are Los Angeles based classical musicians who share love for art song and chamber music making. They also share the interest in works of underrepresented composers. Karen is especially passionate about the Yiddish Folk Song and Theater. As an exploration of her heritage, this subject is something near and dear to Karen’s heart. She believes that music has a unique power to connect to your own roots, while celebrating and sharing your culture with others. Similarly, Valdone frequently includes works by Lithuanian composers.
