About

I am a Brazilian-American ( or as I like to say Carioca-Brooklynite) flutist living in Paris. I regularly perform with the Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe under the baton of Nicolas Krauze and I am co-founder of Ensemble IMAGO here in Paris! I grew up in Brazil listening to and playing mostly bossa nova and jazz, but in my teenage years I discovered and fell in love with classical music and ended up making the shift to flute so that I could play that repertoire. Since, I’ve gone to Indiana (Jacobs) to do my Bachelors and then came to Paris for my grad studies. I’ve spent the last few years as professor and guest lecturer at various different institutions but am taking a year off from teaching in order to pursue performance full-time with my ensemble!

Music

My favorite things to play are Baroque and Belle epoque chamber music, as well as “borrowing” violin classical and romantic sonatas. I’m particularly fond of playing and premiering contemporary music by living composers who are good friends of mine such as Yuko Uebayashi, Sergio Herrera, and Sato Matsui. I tend to spend a season obsessing on the complete works of a specific composer and then move on to another composer the next season.
