About

Elizabeth York lives in St. Paul, MN, and is sought after as a performer and teacher across the region. She currently serves as Associate Concertmaster and Personnel Manager of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.

An avid chamber musician, soloist, and recitalist, Elizabeth’s recent concert highlights include performances with Apollo Chamber Music Festival, Florestan Chamber Music, 10th Wave Chamber Music Collective, and solo violin recitals at Paramount Theater in St. Cloud, MN and the University of South Dakota. She plays baroque violin as a member of Lyra Baroque Orchestra.

Elizabeth is a dedicated teacher with over 15 years teaching experience. She has taught violin at Birch Creek Symphony Session since 2013, and has previously been on faculty at North Dakota State University, College of St. Benedict/St. John's University, St. Cloud State University, and University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire.

Elizabeth completed a dual Doctor of Musical Arts in violin and viola performance at Stony

Music

Western classical music ranging from solo Bach to contemporary compositions. Recent recital solo violin program included Missy Mazzoli, Eugene Ysaye, Kenji Bunch, J.S. Bach, and Biber.
