About

Pianist Alexandra Saraceno has established herself as an avid performer in solo recitals and collaborative concerts. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Western Connecticut State University as a student of Russell Hirshfield, Alexandra completed her master’s degree and advanced certificate in piano performance at New York University as a student of Marilyn Nonken. Past engagements include “Expectation, Emancipation, Eternity: Exploring Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen” a discussion- performance featuring the music of Schoenberg, Debussy, and Messiaen; George Antheil’s Ballet Mécanique for four pianos; and Mark Mothersbaugh’s Music for Six-Sided Keyboard presented by the Grey Art Gallery.

Music

I enjoy programming music of different traditions, genres, and eras alongside one another. I am equally drawn to music of the past and present.
