About

Italian guitarist, Andrea Roberto’s triumph at the 2019 Parkening international guitar competition, the world’s preeminent competition of its kind, has moved him into the forefront of the classical guitar world. Andrea commenced his studies at 9 y.o. Obtaining the bachelor degree at 14. He went on distinguishing himself at the Maastricht Conservatory under maestro Marchione, where he began to display his prodigious talent. Since then , his remarkable musicianship led to performances and awards across the globe including the Segovia and Jose Tomas prize. In 2017 Andrea Made his recording debut “El Viaje de la Guitarra italiana” with JSG RECORDS which has received much critical acclaim. In 2023 Andrea became the first player to perform the complete 6 rossinianas by Giuliani in one concert at the Musashino Shimin Bunka Kaikan of Tokyo. He is currently teaching guitar at the conservatory Piccinni in Bari.

Music

The repertoire stretches from the renaissance music with sweet songs by the Elizabethan lutenist John Dowland to modern Spanish music of mid 20century by Joaquin Rodrigo. With emphasis on transcription of operatic arias by Rossini , first half of 1800.
