CLASSICAL GUITARIST DANIEL ROEST ("roost") has given countless solo and ensemble performances in nearly every kind of venue. His concerts are called “fun and entertaining,” (Portland Classic Guitar Concert Series) and moving – “Listening to him, we get the feeling that we are with one of the great players of the guitar.” (Tiempo Latino Newspaper)
He earned his B. Mus. and M.A. degrees at San Jose State University, played solo and duo with flute aboard cruise ships to Alaska and gave a 30-year series of annual concerts at Lick Observatory. He taught college guitar classes in the Bay Area and Central Valley before moving to Folsom in 2001. In 2008 he took the helm of the Sacramento Guitar Society, then a small club, leading it to become one of the West Coast’s biggest classical and fingerstyle guitar concerts presenters and a strong regional nonprofit with multiple programs.
