About

Irish-Albanian cellist Jayden Lamcellari and Israeli-Greek pianist Itamar Esformes are a Los Angeles-based cello and piano duo who met at the Colburn Conservatory of Music. Their partnership is rooted in a shared passion for bringing chamber music back to its most intimate roots and reviving the historic culture of the salon concert. Through curated performances in private homes and distinctive spaces, they bring audiences close to the musicians, combining music with storytelling and personal insight.

Their repertoire spans major works by Beethoven, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Martinů, and Janáček. Following a performance for Larsen Strings in Los Angeles, they were invited to Denmark, where they gave an international recital in Løjt in July 2026. The duo also competes internationally across Europe and the United States, while continuing to develop intimate concerts and salon experiences that make chamber music personal, immediate, and alive.

Music

Our repertoire is rooted in the great Classical and Romantic chamber music traditions, extending into the colors and rhythms of the 20th century. We perform major works by Beethoven, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Martinů, Janáček, and Piazzolla, among others.

Works such as Rachmaninoff’s Cello Sonata, Beethoven’s Op. 102 No. 1, Brahms’s F-major Sonata, and Shostakovich’s D-minor Sonata reflect what we love about this repertoire: the ability to move from deeply intimate and lyrical moments to the energy of a full concert experience with only two musicians.

At the Colburn Conservatory, we have the privilege of working with leading mentors in the classical music world. Grounded in the European classical tradition, we approach each program as a story, sharing the history and ideas behind the music to make it personal, accessible, and alive.
