Max and I are so looking forward to our second Groupmuse recital! Since COVID-19, we have been self-quarantining in our apartment in Washington Heights, thinking about ways to share our music with the world virtually. In March, at the beginning of the lockdown, we invested in live-streaming/audio/video recording equipment in order to transmit high-quality music over the airwaves.

With online classes continuing in our Doctoral and Artist Diploma degrees at Juilliard, we began our collaboration by performing at each other's virtual lessons. Our musical connection expanded quickly into live-streamed performances, and Groupmuses began soon after.

In our two years living together, our individual school/performance schedules kept us from forming a musical partnership, and only now we have begun our collaboration due to the COVID-19 self-quarantine. We are grateful for the time together and for the music we get to explore and share.

Our first Groupmuse featured sonatas by Schumann and Grieg, and now we move a bit back in time to feature incredible music by Mozart and Brahms. A short piece in the middle, the Paderewski/Kreisler Melodie, is the perfect mid-way breath-of-fresh-air. The Melodie, originally a piano piece, was made into a stunning duo by the legendary violinist and arranger Fritz Kreisler.

We hope you will join us with a drink in hand for a wonderful program and a lively conversation after the performance.

Mackenzie and Max.

What's the music?

Mozart: Violin Sonata No.32 in B-Flat K.454
Paderewski/Kreisler: Melodie in E-Flat
Brahms: Violin Sonata No.2 in A Major Op.100
