The "maturity" of Indian-American pianist Lara Saldanha's performances has been described as "hugely impressive" by the Navhind Times. Lara has been a prizewinner at the Metropolitan International Piano Competition, Geneva Conservatory Liszt, Mendelssohn, and Schumann Competition; Geneva Conservatory Chopin Competition; Ohio Music Teachers’ Association Buckeye Competition; Clifton Piano Competition, and DePauw University Young Artist Competition, among others. Lara’s performing career has taken her to over 17 cities across seven countries. She played her debut in India in January 2017 at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Mumbai, the Kala Academy in Goa, and Mazda Hall for the Pune Music Society. She has also performed in the Institute Menezes Braganza in Goa, India, Bohemian National Hall, Stiefel Hall at Mannes, Opera America, Lang Hall in Hunter College, and World Trade Center Plaza in New York; the Bodmer Foundation and Place Neuve in Geneva, Switzerland; and the Art Museum, Aronoff Center, and Wyoming Fine Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Lara received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University in 2015 Magna Cum Laude, studying with Alan Chow. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music at The New School’s Mannes School of Music in New York City, studying with Vladimir Valjarević. She has also studied with Serguei Milstein at the Geneva Conservatory of Music in Switzerland, Inna Terekhov, and Neya Korsantia.

Lara is a passionate music educator; she was awarded a Teaching Fellowship at the New School in 2017, and teaches a studio of 17 young students at Keys to Success NYC.
