About

Joseph Howe is a cellist based in Boulder, CO. He is the principal cellist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra and associate principal cellist of the Greeley Philharmonic. Other recent orchestral performances include concerts with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra, and New World Symphony.

Joseph loves chamber music, and performs regularly with friends in Colorado. He is a member of Sphere Ensemble, a chamber group that blends music of all eras. He also enjoys performing with his friends at the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival in Trinity County, CA. As a baroque cellist, Joseph performs as a fellowship artist with the Boulder Bach Festival. He has also performed with rock and indie artists such as Father John Misty and Jónsi of Sigur Rós.

Joseph grew up in Oregon, and studied at the University of Oregon and CU Boulder. When he is not performing, he enjoys teaching his studio of young cellists, running, and reading.
