About

Violinist Mary Grace Johnson received her master’s degree from the Juilliard School where she studied chamber music with the Juilliard String Quartet and served as concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra. She made her solo debut with the Nashville Symphony at age 17 and was first prize winner of the 2017 MTNA National Competition. Mary Grace coached chamber music at Vanderbilt’s Blair Academy and was a Juilliard Morse Fellow, teaching underserved students in Manhattan. She received her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, where she was awarded the Founder’s Medal for the Blair School of Music, the highest honor in her graduating class. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.

Favorite composers include Bela Bartok, Beethoven, Bach and Grazyna Bacewicz. (The four B's!)
