About

Devree Lewis is a cellist, arranger, and concert producer based in the D.C. Metro Area. With a passion for performing smaller venue concerts in particular, Devree regularly appears with Cello, World, cello/vocals duo, Philadelphia-based Mill Race Collective, and her husband John Blair, clarinetist.
Cello, World won DC Commission for Arts and Humanities Performing Artist Grant in 2022, for which they produced and performed 6 free interactive concerts in neighborhood centers across D.C. Devree's more recent appearances include: a concert weekend with Choral Arts Society of Washington, performing Eric Whitacre's A Sacred Veil for chorus and solo cello; section cellist for new music group Post Classical Ensemble; and studio recording with alt electronic band April+VISTA.
Devree's arrangements have been performed at venues including San Francisco New Music Center and Tanglewood Music Festival by members of the NSO, invoke quartet, and others.
