About

I grew up in Pennsylvania in a musical family and after I graduated from the Curtis Institute, I played in Italy as assistant principal cellist of the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, then as a cellist in the Israel Philharmonic and then moved to London where I began to free lance throughout Europe on both modern and historic instruments. Since coming to California in the 1990s I have continued to free lance with orchestras and play a lot of chamber music on modern cello as well as baroque cello and viola da gamba. In 2016, together with 4 friends we formed the Persephone Chamber Ensemble dedicated to performing beautiful music for piano quartet and voice, and a noted composer Elinor Armer wrote us a piece after hearing us perform. In addition, I currently play cello and piano sonatas and have a baroque group that plays music for two violas da gamba and theorbo or baroque cello, and theorbo.

Music

I play all types of music from Renaissance and Baroque through Romantic and Impressionist, Modern and Post modern music. I like to play music that is tuneful and above all heartfelt that makes you feel something.
