Thomas A. Giles is a New York City-based saxophonist devoted to the performance of contemporary music and the creation of interdisciplinary work. He is the baritone chair of the MANA Quartet, performs a growing number of solo engagements, and often collaborates with artists of other media as multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and composer.
Last season, Giles’ was a guest soloist at Meredith Monk’s Happy Woman gala and with MANA made concerto appearances with the ECHO Chamber Orchestra in San Francisco, premiered and toured a new edition of Philip Glass’s Concerto for Saxophone Quartet, and performed recitals at Berkeley Chamber Performances and the international Bachfest in Leipzig.
Giles has performed at festivals and venues as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Princeton Sound Kitchen, the Whitney Museum, American Repertory Theater at Harvard, FringeArts Philadelphia, PROTOTYPE Festival, Festival of New American Music, Music Center at the Strathmore, SoundWired Chicago..etc
